On the morning of March 7, AVIC International (Hong Kong) Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China National Aviation Industry Corporation, invested in Beijing Changli United Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and the signing ceremony of CATIC Longli United Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was established. The unveiling ceremony for the Beijing-based zinc-air battery research center was held in Beijing on the 7th. The signing ceremony marked another important move taken by AVIC to develop new energy and realize the industrialization of zinc-air batteries.

Vice Mayor of Beijing Municipal People’s Government Lou Zhongwen, general manager of AVIC Lin Zuoming attended the signing ceremony and jointly unveiled the Beijing Zinc Air Battery Research Center.

Deputy Mayor Lou Zhongwen said in his speech that the construction of this project not only has important strategic significance for the long-term development of AVIC International Group, but also implements the Beijing Green Beijing plan, which will extend the new energy industry chain in Beijing and improve new energy sources. The structure, promote the development of related industries, and even optimize the structure of new energy vehicles are of great significance.

Ji Guirong, General Manager of AVIC International Hong Kong, remarked that the zinc-air battery not only serves as a clean transportation power source, but also serves as the optimal solution for energy storage, with broad development prospects and strong competitive advantages. AVIC International Hong Kong hopes to leverage its industrial synergy. While striving to speed up the industrialization of zinc-air batteries, it will use the successful distribution model and sales network of CNPC's clean energy company to establish a zinc air battery service system for national public transport and sanitation systems. Economic development provides more varieties of clean energy and makes new contributions to China's green energy business.

AVIC Changli will invest RMB 500 million to implement industrialization of zinc-air batteries within the next three years. In 2010, Beijing will arrange for five electric buses and sanitation vehicles to conduct operational tests. Another 50 electric buses and sanitation vehicle batteries will be arranged. Road tests will be conducted on the lines designated by the Beijing Municipal Government and put into trials of the city bus and sanitation systems. Operation provides a reliable basis for market operation. In 2011, the company plans to produce 100 electric bus batteries, run on bus lines and fixed-point travel routes, and add 300 electric sanitation vehicle batteries to run in the municipal sanitation system, laying a solid foundation for large-scale development of electric vehicles. In 2012, it plans to produce 500 electric bus batteries and 500 electric sanitation truck batteries, and join the ranks of Beijing to develop the commercialization of electric vehicles. In 2013, it achieved large-scale production of zinc-air batteries and reached an annual output of 1,000 electric buses and 1,000 electric sanitation batteries.

At the ceremony, Beijing Changli United Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and AVIC International Hong Kong signed an investment agreement on "Zinc Air Battery Industrialization Project". At the same time, Beijing Changli also signed the "Letter of Interest in Electric Bus Project" with Beijing Public Transport Group respectively. ”, signed the “Electric Sanitation Vehicle Project Cooperation Agreement” with Beijing Sanitation Group, and signed the “Letter of Intention to the Badaling New Energy Industrial Base” with the Beijing Badaling Economic Development Zone Management Committee.
