High technology leads China's shipbuilding industry

In five years, the world market share increased from 5.4% to 17%, and formed a number of brand ship types.

Today (March 23), it was learned from the Ship Industry Management Office of the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense that during the 10th Five-Year Plan period, China’s shipbuilding industry achieved a historic leap: in 2005, China’s shipbuilding output exceeded 12 million DWT, accounting for world market share. In 1985, 5.4% increased to 17%; hand-held orders reached 39.63 million DWT, quadrupling from five years ago; ship exports reached US$4.66 billion, nearly double the number in 2000.

According to reports, the National Defense Science and Technology Commission organized and implemented the "high-tech ship scientific research plan", arranged a number of key projects that are urgently needed for industrial development, and achieved a number of major achievements to meet market demand, which strongly supported the rapid growth of the shipbuilding industry. In the past five years, the "High-tech Ship Scientific Research Plan" has successively arranged 48 key scientific research projects that are urgently needed for industrial development, closely surrounding the market demand, and in accordance with the overall thinking of "grasping the key, bringing the overall situation, focusing on improving the real competitiveness", and urgently needing industrial development. As a priority theme, the technical field with good technical foundation has focused on the research and development of ship type technology, selectively arranged the localization of marine equipment, and moderately arranged advanced shipbuilding technology research and offshore engineering equipment development.

Up to now, a number of new ship types that have adapted to the market demand have entered the international market in batches. The development of ship supporting equipment has filled a number of domestic gaps, and modern shipbuilding technologies such as tandem shipbuilding have entered the world first.

In recent years, through the strengthening of the development of mainstream ship types in ultra-large oil tankers, large container ships, super large bulk carriers and Other international markets, a number of brand ship types have been formed: the independent design and construction of 300,000 tons of super large oil tankers (VLCC) has been realized. The 175,000-ton green environmental good-angle-angle bulk carrier developed by China has become an international brand with an international market share of over 40%. Container ships with independent intellectual property rights have formed a series and have entered the container-type container ship market. ability. Among the three major ship-type markets, China has ranked second in the world.

The development and research of large-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) ships has made breakthroughs. China has successfully undertaken 147,000 cubic meters of LNG ships, and has entered the world's shipbuilding cutting-edge technology field, breaking the technological monopoly of a few countries. The successful construction of the high-speed ro-ro passenger ship has brought China into a new market segment. The breakthrough in the design and construction of offshore engineering equipment has formed the ability to independently design and construct large jack-up drilling platforms.

At the same time, China has also broken through the key manufacturing technologies of key marine supporting equipment, and completed the domestic research and development of the first three-type high-power low-speed diesel engine such as the 7S80MC machine in China. The large-scale low-speed crankshaft of the ship has achieved complete self-production. The main ship type construction period of China's key shipyards is close to the level of Japan and South Korea. In 2005, more than 80% of ships achieved early delivery.

It is understood that during the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, China will continue to implement high-tech ship scientific research plans to drive the overall technical level of the shipbuilding industry to achieve leap-forward development, and will break through a number of industrial core technologies and key technologies, ship R&D design and marine equipment manufacturing. Technology will form certain technological advantages in local areas.
