Up to now, most of the 600,000 tons of coal-to-methanol projects with a total investment of 2.899 billion yuan have basically completed the excavation of pipeline networks and the construction of vaporization equipment. The project design, equipment ordering, and the introduction of major process software have been completed and the various types of contracts have been signed. The amount of the contract was 870 million yuan. The entire project completed an investment of 400 million yuan, and major equipment installation can be completed within the year.
The project is located in Shibaozi Development Zone, Huating County, Gansu Province and is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in early 2009. After the completion of the project, the annual coal consumption will be 1.62 million tons, the average annual sales income will be 1.06 billion yuan, and the total annual profit and tax will be 420 million yuan. It will have high profitability and risk resistance. After the project is put into production, it will gradually form a methanol fine chemical industry zone and realize the extension of the methanol industry chain. In the long term, it will also start the methanol to olefins project and realize the preparation of petrochemical products from the coal chemical route.
Huating County of Gansu Province is one of the 13 coal production bases in the country and one of the three largest coal production bases in the northwest. It has rich coal resources, domestic reserves of 2.2 billion tons, and storage capacity of 1.8 billion tons. It is low-ash, low-phosphorus, low-sulfur, and highly volatile. High-tech, high-calorie, high-quality power chemical coal is one of the only five high-quality chemical coal bases in the country.
