180 Shanghai Chemical Enterprises “Let Place” to Achieve Industrial Savings and Intensive Land Use

Recently, the Shanghai Economic Commission issued an announcement at the industrial conservation and intensive land use work conference. A total of 462 enterprises in 10 districts of the city have adjusted, relocated, or closed down, of which chemical companies account for 40% and more than 180.
Among the companies that adjusted, relocated and shut down, there were 189 chemical companies involved, including chemical plants, paint and pigment factories, rubber and plastics plants, and chemical plants. Most of these companies are relatively small, some have no land use certificates, and some are unqualified units for safety improvement. Shanghai is an extremely large city in China, and it is also a petrochemical base that processes nearly 20 million tons of oil a year. However, the area of the city is only 6,600 square kilometers, and the land has become a rare resource. The closure of these enterprises will not affect the development of Shanghai's chemical industry. On the contrary, some high-tech fine chemical and biopharmaceutical chemical companies will bring new opportunities for development after adjustment and relocation.
During the “11th Five-Year Plan” period, Shanghai Petrochemical and the fine chemical industry will continue to grow at a double-digit rate, and the shortage of land will become a bottleneck restricting the rapid development of the industry. Promoting land-saving and intensive use has become the most effective measure to solve the problem.
Shanghai's chemical industry promotes land-saving and intensive use, and there are mainly three approaches.
To the sea. Shanghai Chemical Industry Park has realized the development of “zero cultivated land”, and the planned land of 29.4 square kilometers in the chemical industry area has been formed by tidal flats and reclamation.
Teng cage for birds. Last year, Songjiang District shut down high-energy, low-output, heavy-polluting calcium carbide plants and ferroalloy plants, and introduced companies with high development potential and high technological content. This year it also adjusted 65 companies covering 1,205 acres. According to preliminary calculations, after adjusting and introducing new projects, sales revenue could jump from 338 million yuan to 2 billion yuan, and profits from negative 23.58 million yuan to more than 60 million yuan.
Industrial agglomeration. Shanghai Petrochemical will focus on the development of Bengbu-Shanghai Chemical Industry Park, improve Wusong Chemical Industry Park, upgrade Jinshan Petrochemical, adjust Gaoqiao Petrochemical, and establish the two major divisions of Jinshan and Fengxian in the chemical industry zone. These industrial parks built with the concept of "integration" are rationally equipped with production factors. The unit land yield rate is high, and land resources are saved to the maximum extent.
