Ministry of Transport requires inspection of safety production On June 15, the Ministry of Transport issued a notice and decided to conduct a major safety inspection in the national transportation system from June to the end of September. The inspection will cover all areas, all units, and businesses of the transportation system and "zero tolerance" for the problems identified.

The inspections focused on road safety projects, road passenger transport, urban public transport and rail transit, floating passengers (rolling) transport, waterborne sand and gravel transportation, etc. The inspections included 9 items including the implementation of the two main duties of safety production. From June to the end of July, it is a comprehensive self-examination stage. From early to mid-August, it is a professional inspection stage. From late August to early September, it is a comprehensive inspection stage. From mid-September to late-September, it is a summary reporting stage.

The notice requires that all departments and units should list out the problems and hidden dangers that have been detected, and “zero tolerance” for the problems identified, timely rectify and clarify the rectification measures, time for rectification, and rectification responsibilities. For major hidden troubles and outstanding issues, supervision must be carried out and follow-up inspections must be strengthened. For problems and hidden dangers that are universal, symptomatic, and prone, we must promptly study countermeasures, put forward rectification measures, and fundamentally solve problems. If the rectification of the hidden trouble is not in place or the accident is caused by ineffective work, an investigation shall be carried out and the responsibilities of the responsible persons shall be strictly investigated. The transport enterprises that fail to timely rectify and rectify major hidden dangers shall be ordered to suspend their business for rectification according to law.
