Two kinds of nano additive plastic products are available
German company Weser's BYK will exhibit two kinds of plastic products with nano-additives at the Plastics Fair 2004 in Dusseldorf, Germany from October 20th to 27th. Dr. Roland Peter, Managing Director of BYK, commented that this is the first product developed using the knowledge and capabilities of BYK and NTC. More and more customers around the world are watching our products. This is also the proof of the cooperation capabilities of the two companies. BYK Chemical and NTC expect to launch more nano-new products in 2004. The company's product trademarks are NANOBYK-3600 and NANOBYK-3601. The main function is to improve the scratch resistance and durability of UV-cured coatings. These UV-curable coatings are used in a large number of applications requiring high wear resistance, such as plastic flooring. Among them, 3600 is an aqueous dispersion of nano-alumina particles. Using an additive level of 0.5% to 5% will significantly increase the milk scratch resistance of the coating. 3601 is a tripropylene glycol diacrylate dispersed alumina nanoparticle specifically designed for 100% UV curing coatings. Also, the range of addition of the coating formulation is 0.5% to 5%, which will significantly improve the mechanical properties of the coating. These two products are jointly developed by BYK Chemicals and Nanophase Technology Corporation (NTC.). In addition, Altana Corporation invested in peer-to-peer investments in March 2004. This is the first product launched by the partners based on a global strategy.
