The role of the intercooler

Moreover, the density of the air will increase during the compression process, which will inevitably lead to an increase in air temperature, thereby affecting the engine's inflation efficiency. If you want to further improve the efficiency of the gas, we must reduce the intake temperature. The data shows that under the same air-fuel ratio, the engine power can be increased by 3% to 5% for every 10°C decrease in the charge air temperature.

(2) If uncooled charge air enters the combustion chamber, besides affecting the engine's charging efficiency, it can easily cause the engine's combustion temperature to be too high, causing knock and other failures, and it will increase the NOx content in engine exhaust gas. , causing air pollution.
